The gold ring has an engraved agate scarab, mounted on a swivel. The cast hoop is of horseshoe shape, with cup-shaped terminals attached to each end of a rod which passes through a perforation in the stone. The mount is a gold band, decorated with granulation and dentellated along one edge, with the triangular points holding the scarab in place. On the flat undersurface, carved in intagho within a hatched border, is a naked male youth, advancing left, holding a kantharos in his outstretched right hand and a wreath in his right.
