RECUMBENT CALF

ELECTRUM

Height 2.2 cm.
Length 2.4 cm.
Weight 5.20 gr.

USAK MUSEUM

The calf is shown lying right, with head facing. The hindlegs are folded horizontally beneath the rump, and the forelegs flexed diagonally up across the body at front and back. The ankle bones and hooves are well articulated. The pointed oval ears project horizontally from either side of the head, like those of no. 153, and there are small budding horns at the back of the head. The top of the head is marked by punched circles, but there are no markings on the body. There are two small adjacent bracket rings beneath the rump and three beneath the chest. As with no. 153, there is an opening on the underside.
