The jug has a trefoil mouth, cylindrical neck, and globular body which narrows towards a flat base. At the junction of neck and body the jug is encircled by three plain ridges. The handle, of octagonal section, rises high above the level of the rim. The upper terminal is in the form of a stylised animal head with engraved eyes and pointed concave ears, its nose merging into a plain attachment plate with concave ends which is fixed to the rim by two rivets. The lower end of the handle is in the form of a rosette with eight convex petals.
